This is without a doubt the best Italian Restaurant around.  We were in Rome this summer.  When we visited SAN Reno tonight we were transported to that magical culinary city once again.  We wanted two dishes not on the menu, vongole and spaghetti carbonara and the chef produced dishes that rivalled our Rome experience.  We live in Vancouver but always visit every time we are in Edmonton!  Well done owner Romano!!!  Delizioso!!  Grazie!!!

Went here with a good friend of mine a few nights ago and I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting it to causal but the decor and atmosphere was very classy. I had that rigatoni with the red sauce and my friend had the gnocchi in house cream sauce. My pasta was perfect, the menu said it was spicy and most definitely was. Maybe a bit too strong? My friends was great very creamy. Although our food was fabulous, the staff was a bit off. My friend stepped out to to use the washroom and her food had arrived. The female waitress then waited with the cheese and other dressings until she was back. It was quite strange and uncomfortable.  However the manger/owner was extremely welcoming and should be very proud of his establishment! Would definitely come back!

Highly recommended by friends and this place exceeded all expectations.  From the wine to the appetizers, main course was amazing as was the chocolate mouse!!!  Very classy touch was the restaurant giving us some peach grappa to end the night.   We will definitely include this place on our usual St. Albert stop moving forward!!!!

This place is small, but it is actually nice and adds to the ambiance of the place. I would say maybe make a reservation, just in case. And yes it is $$$. But well worth it. There is parking right beside the building and that is nice since it is downtown. The calamari we had to start was delicious. I had the chicken parm, I wanted seafood pasta but $$. Either way it may have been best I have had, ever hands down. Fiancé had the cannelloni. The meat stuffing yum! Also the red sauce on both tasty tasty. We had tiramisu for dessert and it was perfect, authentic. The service was phenomenal. No it isn't a weekly stop but perfect for special days!

A bit of an interesting experience. I went with my father for a night of fine dining. There happened to be a large party celebrating a family event - approximately 25 other people in the restaurant with us. Despite the event, the service was very attentive. In fact, the service was a little too attentive to the point of being overbearing and feeling like we were getting pestered over every little thing. About 5 people came to check on us (the chef came out and shook my father's hand - would have been a nice touch, had the servers not been all over us already) every 5 minutes over the course of our stay.

After riddling off a massive list of specials, the server allowed us to order.
For an appetizer, we shared the mussels and the mushroom bruschetta. Our first choice was originally the regular bruschetta, but the server strongly recommended we try the mushroom variety instead. It tasted fine, but my father and I concluded we would have much preferred our first choice.
My dad ordered the Linguine ai Frutti di Mare. It looked pretty great and as far as I know, it was very tasty.
I ordered whatever lamb special was on for that particular day - 2 lamb shanks paired with gnocchi. It was very delicious and the meat was tender. The presentation of the food left something to be desired, though. My plate looked a bit sloppily put together, however I could tell the intention and the effort was there.
We concluded our meal with a dessert (chocolate mousse, if I remember correctly.)

Overall, the dining experience was alright, but I did feel like I was being watched over a little too closely. I understand the desire to serve your customers well, but I strongly recommend the staff to back off and stop over-stimulating those who are dining.
